i love berlin

went to berlin last week. got flashed again by this huge mass of tags and pieces in its streets. if you're into graffiti a bit, it is amazing to see and find out where all those writers come from just to make this city more colorful.

its style is particular. always ill, fat and dripping. lots of chrome and paint tags. attracting attention in this capital of graff means doing something really crazy. or doing it big. or all over the place. berlin style has definitely influenced the whole scene in the last years. you can either love it or hate it. i don't think there's a lot in between. check out my impressions.

at this weekend the hundreds are dropping some collabortation shirts as well as the opening of a new store in san francisco. the collabos include benny gold, hieroglyphics, kelis, lovewright co., la taquiza, foreign family and irons. if you want to have some more informations, check out the hundreds!

sneakerology 101

i know it sounds strange but pensylvania's carnegie mellon university offers a sneaker based class, sneakerology 101. it's a university level course dealing with sneaker culture on the whole. the class utilizes Bobbito Garcia's "where'd you get those" for references as well as various sneaker-based websites. interested parties can sign up for class. next session is set for spring of 2009.

futura x stussy skullacon

this is a part of the stussy x futura "destiny" collection, the skullacon series. it includes a new era fitted cap and a pair of swim shorts designed by futura. now available at wesoldout. crazy stuff.

nice sunglasses

these nice sunglasses will be released this season by linda farrow Vintage. they all are a product of a collaboration with designers like Jeremy Scott, Raf Simons, Rodarte and Bernhard Willhelm. Six new styles are now available at Colette.

hot chip in concert

for those of you who don't know hot chip from their releases coming on strong or the warning, you can't ignore them now, after their last album made in the dark. their music is an incredibly fresh mix of electronic beats, alternative pop and countless other genres. these brits definitely rock.
in these days, they're touring through europe and the states. tomorrow, they'll perform at gloria theater, cologne. i won't miss this show. see you there (for further information, check out their myspace page).
